Think Happy Thoughts During a Panic Attack

Posted by Dave on January 14, 2010

Here is a question that came to me recently:

What are some empowering thoughts you can run through your mind, or tell to yourself while having a panic attack to diminish the feeling of despair that comes after the rush passes?

Before I answer this question, we need to keep in mind that panic attacks are different for everyone. We all have different feelings, reasoning’s, chemical make up and trauma’s.

What you really need to do is to start journaling when a panic attack occurs. When you start writing down what was happening at the time of the attack, where you were, how you were feeling, etc… you will start to develop a clear picture about your panic attacks.

Now you can go back and start changing the thoughts you had at the time to a more positive thought. Take a look at what the worst case scenario of that feeling would be. What are the chances of that worse case scenario even happening.

I also use meditation/self Hypnosis on a daily basis and this helps me to have more positive thoughts in my mind before the attack even happens. Since I have changed my thoughts to more positive thoughts my panic attacks are happening less frequently and are less severe than they have ever been.

I try very hard to use happy thoughts during a Panic attack and sometimes I think about people I love and that often takes the edge off of the attack.

Keep Moving Forward!
